Hello everyone! I searched through the forum and noticed a few federation posts, however most is years ago, with no updates since which is why I decided to create this post to get the latest updates.

May I ask when will federation be coming to Flarum? At least federation through ActivityPub, without the need of direct federation between forums.

Hi @Jst-Tan,

As of now, Flarum doesn’t have official support for ActivityPub or general federation built-in. There have been some community extensions in the past, but none are actively maintained for full federation. The Flarum core team has mentioned federation as a long-term goal, but there’s no confirmed release date yet. Your best option is to keep an eye on community extensions and the official Flarum roadmap for updates.

I thought the whole federation fad died down across the board? I know Ghost is doing something lately for it, but I feel like many people are coming back to mainstream Social Media.
