Sometimes, when I visited certain Flarum forums, I received a message:

Flarum encountered a boot error. Details have been logged to the Flarum log file.

What does this mean? 🤔️

Weegee it means the forum administrator has some work to do 😉

Nothing you can do as a user, except trying to reach the forum owner through a different channel if they are unaware their website is down. Something is misconfigured and the owner will need to troubleshoot.

clarkwinkelmann to add, I have had my fair share of running into misconfigured flarum instances and when I reached out to the admins, they tell me I'm wrong and that there is nothing wrong with their websites lol... The denial is real out there.

A boot error usually implies either a filesystem issue or an outdated extension. To know for sure, looking at the logs is required.

If the error message mentions the log file, they should have undeniable proof that the error occurred by looking at said log file 🤷🏻‍♂️

Unless there's a file permission error or the disk is full of course, but then the lack of any sort of logs will be proof that something is wrong.

clarkwinkelmann Yeah I keep telling them that the site is broken and to check their logs but, yeah they're in denial and just flat out ignore the tools given to them.
I think there was an Indian Travel site here recently with the same situation.
