MagicSlider — smooth and customizable hero slider

MagicSlider is an excellent extension for Flarum that replaces the WelcomeHero with a fully configurable image slider. You can adjust autoplay, slide order, links, navigation, and even separate settings for desktop and mobile. Each new version has improved features, fixed bugs, and refined the admin layout. Updates can be applied via Packagist, and if composer doesn’t automatically fetch the latest, you can manually remove and require it again. It’s compatible with Flarum 1.x and 2.x, and ongoing improvements continue to enhance usability and customization.

Hi! I want to use this very nice plugin, but I tried it on both of my forum sites and there is a problem. You can see the problem in the video below. Frankly, I don't know what is causing it.

dats Try setting the «Autoplay interval» in the extension settings to 0, save the changes, clear the forum cache, and check whether the issue persists

I tried it, it works fine, but we want it to run automatically 🙂

Is there any way to disable the slider for mobile while having it display properly on desktop? I'm having issues with the mobile view cutting off a significant border around the slides, so I would like to just make slides for desktop view and have mobile revert to the built in notice. Is that possible with this?

stryguardian I’m releasing an update today with a new feature to hide the slider on desktop or mobile. I already have the update ready for Flarum 2.x, but I don’t currently have a 1.x forum available — I’ll set one up today and test it 👀

Could you help to diagnose this problem with magic slider?

When using default theme. Sliders will appearance as expected.

But using ramon/avocado theme, magic slider doesn't appear on the page. Just like the extension is not installed or enabled.

自在の偶 Most likely, Avocado handles the hero element differently somehow. For now, I’m not planning to adapt my extensions for custom themes, though I might consider it later
