My Flarum forum is suddenly getting a lot of spam. It seems to be automated scripts, not humans.
The Problem:
Bots are registering new accounts using email. Immediately after registering, they create new discussions with spam content (ads for adult services, etc.).
What I've Tried:
I am temporarily using the keyword blacklist (like blocking "QQ"), which stops them for a day or two, but they eventually return. This feels like a game of cat-and-mouse that I will lose.
My Question:
I want to stop these bots at the registration step.
I am looking for a way to add a simple, custom "social question" to the registration form. For example:
- "What is the main topic of this forum?"
- "What is 2 + 2?"
- "Please type the word 'human' here."
This should be very easy for a human user but would stop most of these simple, automated scripts.
Is there a recommended extension that can do this?
