Tried installing fof/byobu using extension manager

I'm on a shared host so I have to use extension manager as I have no access to command line.

I typed in fof/byobu. Then it asks for my database password. I type it in and I get the following message:

I have no access to the server error logs from my account. Any advice on proceeding?

I saved a copy of my database before and after the attempt.

MarkB I know Shared Hosts are extremely restrictive. I also don't have much experience using the Extension Manager since I've always used Terminal for this.
Are you dead set on staying with your host? There are cheap managed solutions out there that you can use your own domain to connect to.

KBExit Well, it's my main server that I use for all my Wordpress sites. I'm kind of locked in for at least two more years.

MarkB I gotcha. I was entertaining the idea of installing the said extension for you and then supplying you with the composer file, but you'd have to run: composer update via SSH Unfortunately...
Does your host offer VPS?
I am testing Extension Manager with my clients right now and offering it up as Pioneer Plan if all goes smoothly, if you decide to come onboard in 2 years.
On the other hand, Private Messages are integrated into Flarum Core for 2.0. Just a matter of when.

In the meanwhile am I going to have to reinstall Flarum and start again?

Oh sorry, I misunderstood. You might have to update through extension manager. I haven't met that error at all, again, because I use terminal /:

What access do you have to your server? Can you login using SSH? Do you have access to modify your PHP settings? Maybe you can explain in a bit more detail. What happens when you install an extension, do you run into a timeout?

This is the migration screen after running a big update. You either need to enter your database password to start migration - or normally if you do work with SSH you would run php flarum migrate.

The Flarum and package manager log files should be readable via FTP (storage/logs folder)
