Why is it taking so long to fix 2 github issues?

It has been a while that only 2 issues are left in 0.6 milestone. I wonder why is it taking so long to fix them? I am not pressuring anyone, i am just curious.

jordanjay29 I did, that's why i am really curious why 2 left issues aren't fixed yet to publish beta 6. In the 0.6 milestore therea re only 2 left issues.

Digital No activity since April on one and nothing on the other until a 3rd party tried to jump in and help.

I love the idea of this platform but it's hard for me to feel like the founders have any sense of urgency to get it out the door. Really no movement all summer long and now they are all back to school and other projects.

I'm happy to pitch in if cash helps motivate. If not, we need to recruit more developers and give them more authority to move the ball forward. An open source project needs some sort of momentum and pace to keep the community going.

JRay Like i always say, we all need to be very patient and great things will come.

Core Devs are real people as well, they also have real life outside the digital world (especially now that a lot of things are happening with our member's personal life). If you will check our GitHub page, there are already tons of issues that has been solved/fixed and i think that it's a great progress despite some bumps and obstacles in real life.

We love this project and we are sure everyone here does. If you will review the recent community update, you will see the statement that beta 6 is just around the corner and will be released soon. We hope you guys stick around a bit and get excited!

- Money has never been the issue on this project.
- Additional core dev is currently being discussed.

If you are familiar with all the platform involve with this project - you are always welcome to participate and help with the issues (this applies to everyone).

Digital I think more core devs would help a bunch. I wish I could code PHP and would jump in if I could.

I'm not just here to complain. I've been following this project for a year now and really want to see it succeed. I'm in software development and I know you need some kind of pressure/motivation to push through all the challenges.

I hope to see the pace pickup. If some folks are too busy, no worries just pass the baton to others.

JRay I totally agree! In general open source apps move very fast in development. I don't know why this is not happening with flarum. Aren't external developers allowed to help in core developing?

In general yes, because most projects have enough core devs who works around the clock, which is the opposite of Flarum. If you read my post and the community update you will understand why.

Obviously everyone is welcome to participate, because we are on GitHub and we are open source. If you have the ability/skills, then you can go ahead and start helping us with the development: https://github.com/flarum/core

I also mentioned that adding more core devs to help with the development is on the table.

@arjoni I seriously thank you for your concern. It shows your willingness to voice the concerns you have, something I highly value. I have the same concerns and as a result came back to rejoin the team; to take action. Due to my personal situation I haven't been able to effectively do so. Although still not completely settled down again, I will be investing more time to make sure the new version will be out as soon as possible. However, I think before we are able to release the stable version we will be needing more supportive staff as well. For one, the whole documentation still needs to be drafted with all the latest information.

So if you or anyone else is able to spend some time on helping this project move forward, feel free to contact me or @jordanjay29 on Gitter. In the meantime I will remain vigilant and push for activity regularly.

Hmmm, I think it about time to step up.

I am sending through an email for Toby/Franz and will look into drafting the documentation. I just want to get a brief introduction into what is expected and just how much work is required as I don't want to get too ahead of myself and not be able to deliver considering I am developing a project of my own.

arjoni There's still a few more testing procedures and logistical things to complete. It's on its way!

HavocK I don't know how this rumor is getting started, but documentation is not a blocker for Beta 6.
