I would like to give you an update on some improvements and changes that we have made on discuss.flarum.org.
What's available right now:
fof/username-request has been removed
flarum/nicknames is now used on discuss - you may choose a nickname
Instead of using blomstra/database-queue (which will be a first-party feature of v2) we are now using Redis with fof/horizon to further improve the performance of this forum. Database queues rely on a cronjob that's triggered once every minute. Therefor all realtime updates have could have been delayed up to one minute. You will notice this now with quicker refreshes and typing indicators from our websockets provided by blomstra/realtime. Also it's important to note that thanks to the generous offer of @luceos this much desired functionallity will be Open Source and part of Flarum starting with v2.
This preperation steps have been undertaken by @IanM to make discuss ready for Flarum v2. As you have all been following along Ian is currently pushing out extension updates (starting with those extensions used here). Our aim is to move discuss.flarum.org to Flarum v2 before the years end so that we can give it a thourogh rundown before it becomes available to you all next year.
