Chatsong_ I'm sure it is harder for older people that aren't that familiar with forums but as you stated younger people shouldn't have any problems with it at all. It takes a few more steps but in the grand scheme of things it really doesn't take much more to create a topic in Flarum than it does in myBB, xenForo, phpBB, etc. You might want to look into the extension that @navindra mentioned cause if I am not mistaken when you click on one of those "categories" and go to create a post it will create it in the category they are in even in "sub categories" so it would look and feel more like what people are used to.
