reddit style feed system

I think we can all agree that reddit is a massive platform that allows people to engage across multiple subreddits by building their feed system to help keep them engaged.

I'd love to see something similar built for flarum where people can build their own feeds that they see when they're logged in to their flarum site.

I'd also like to see something where the feed system automatically presents "feeds" to guests and users who haven't built their own custom feeds yet. I don't know exactly how this data should be selected or presented but I'd like to think this system can be built to help keep people engaged on the site.

Would love this. If the userbase is large and the topic is great, then having custom built feeds would be a game changer.

I support this idea. The only things wrong with Flarum are:

It doesn't have the functionality of Reddit, and the homepage isn't fluent. It could stay that way, but an extension would be officially better.
It lacks a visual appearance. For example, there are many templates. However, they all look similar. There aren't any distinct visuals like WordPress.

It would be great if there were both extensions and templates that could be used for different purposes. For example, if someone were building a site like Reddit, or if someone were building a news site.

I've also been seeing Flarum sites lately, and they look different, and they feature three blog posts on the homepage. However, I've been looking for a while now, and no one has developed an extension for this, or they're keeping their work a secret.

Also, I really like @huseyinfiliz 's work. He's doing great things for Flarum. He listens to our needs and contributes to the extensions he develops.

There have been many discussions on adding Reddit features to Flarum already. Some of it can be achieved with the Gamification extension (up/down-voting). You can also build your own feed using the Follow-Tag extension.

A more complex implementation of this features would be needed for very large and general-themed communities where one joins but is not interested in all of its content.

Personally I think that this exactly the difference between a custom Forum and Reddit - meaning most individual Forums are targeting a specific topic and such an extension would be overkill.

GreXXL I think gamification and the follow tag could be used in conjunction with a reddit style feed extension, but I don't think they're a replacement for it.

While they help increase engagement in their own right, they don't allow the end user to make the space their own. Reddit allows you go build your own feed based on what you like.

I have a large forum with over 600k posts. There are a few forum categories (aka tags on flarum) that are more popular than others.

andrewjs18 I think what's really needed to make this a good proposal is to write down the requirements for this extensions as detailed as possible so that a potential developer can estimate the effort needed to do this. If it would become a bounty this is required anyways.
