Custom text field on sign up dialog

Forgive me if this already exists, I tried looking for extensions and settings related to the sign up dialog and didn't find what I was looking for.

We are intending to make our forum for ages 16 and up only. We have this listed in our rules, but we got some feedback that it would be better if that rule was mentioned on the sign up dialog as well, which I would agree with. I haven't been able to find any way to customize that dialog, though.

I did find the age check extension, but this isn't really what we want, since it looks like it also blocks you from viewing if you're underage.

We're not really concerned with who is viewing the content on our forum, only who can have an account there.

I think it would be helpful to have an extension that allows us to add a small section of custom text there. Even better if it has markdown enabled so we can add links. For our purposes we could list our age rule, but I can also imagine other uses such as noting that usernames must not include your real name, or directing you to read a certain informational post before you sign up, etc.

Of course, it would be better if people simply read the rules before signing up 😅 I know better than to expect that will happen though

GreXXL We might be able to make that work for our purposes, I'll have to try it and see what the options are 🤔 I guess I missed that one since we're not really looking to have tick boxes for agreeing to the TOS and privacy policy. All of my searches were more along the lines of "sign up dialog" or "customize sign up".

ernestdefoe We don't want people to have to add their age 🤔 it sounds like that would add a field for someone to type their age...? I'm not quite understanding it from reading the description on the page.

I added the extension linked by GreXXL and configured it to look like this:

A sign up dialog with fields for username, nickname, email, password, confirm password, and a box stating that you must be at least 16 years old to register an account

This fits our needs perfectly. It really doesn't need to be anything fancy, we'll simply suspend accounts if we discover they are underage. We just want people to realize there is an age requirement before they sign up.

I would not have realized this extension could be used this way just from looking at the extension list, so thank you for pointing me the right direction, GreXXL!
