Flarum is very slow (api too)

The issue

Hello, my issues is simple : Flarum is low (i thought)
That means when i call api outside (for my website or other), all other thing become slow
Loading time of my forum is approx ₃-4s, it's very slow
I selfhost flarum on my dedicated server, i don't think the spec is a problem, because all my website run fine, gameserver too and more.

I use the latest version of flarum
I've try to monitor a lot of things, apache, mysql, dns, and more, but i can't find any solution

vhaeriel best if you share your php flarum info. What I see in your screenshot is that you are not using a queue - like DB queue - which can help if you experience long loading times. https://discuss.flarum.org/d/28151-database-queue-the-simplest-queue-even-for-shared-hosting/

Thanks for the reply, when i've try to enable Database Queue, it switch to off alone,
And just after i got : Flarum encountered a boot error. Details have been logged to the Flarum log file.

When i disabled the extension with php flarum extension:disable blomstra-database-queue the forum boot again, it's very strange

DB queues don't work on Windows (at least the version available for v1 of Flarum). So you will have to remove that again.

Flarum is really a fast piece of software. I am not experienced in hosting it in an windows environment unfortunalty. It would need some debugging to see what causes the load issues. If its related to your PHP or maybe your database setup. Maybe you can find more information in your server logs. But the issue you are experiencing is specific to your setup.

I've change all my main website api call to SQL select, now the main website is fast, only flarum is "slow" (like 2/3s)
After a lot of research and test, it appear it maybe an hard drive problem
Flarum is on SATA HDD, not SSD
Maybe it's a problem 🤔

It's slow for me on Linux/SSD as well. I'm using Flarum v2 beta.
I've disabled debug, of course, but it's still slow for the new/empty database (SQLite).

oooo-ps I think SQLite will always be slower than MySQL and of course MariaDB

Your TTFB is too high, this is server side processing, not specific to the forum itself, processing is very slow before it throw the first byte to the browser.

Yeah but, why ? It's happens ONLY on the forum side, on my link (forum.elementys.online), that's the only place where the ttfb is hight.
Everywhere on my website (elementys.online) the ttfb is not that hight

Not too familiar with your tech stack, but it looks like the content on elementys.online might be cached? If it’s database-driven, the query results might be coming from a cache too.

I also want to point out that just because you run a Dedicated Server, it does not mean the specifications are all that great. I know plenty of VPSs that outperform dedicated. It comes down to what the servers configurations are. If you don't need 100% isolated and private, Dedicated is probably just bleeding your money dry, and in your case, contributing to the subpar hosting experience. We still don't know your entire ecosystem and cannot pinpoint exactly what is wrong.

To give you more context. I run multiple VPSs for my hosting service and every one of those sites are blazing fast.

Thanks for you reply, host resolve is only because i haven't point "www." to my forum
Don't worry for the dedicated server, i've strong configuration, the only problem in my case is the hdd and not an ssd i think

but tbf, difference between A+ and A is very little lol

I am ruling out all the possible causes, but you think it's strictly HDD vs SSD?
If this issue persists with Flarum on the drive speeds, couldn't this architecture also hinder your MMORPG experience moving forward? Flarum is extremely lightweight.

It's not the same architecture
Flarum needs to process several thousand files in /vendor/ to display correctly (even if it's 0.10 ms per file, multiplied by 5000, it adds up quickly). For MMORPGs, it's a completely different architecture, and the user's configuration will be more important than the server machine (for rendering the game).
