adding external auth afterwards?

The issue

Hi,

I recently took flarum into use for people living in the same apartments. Some people have already registered. But people feel it's complicated. I was thinking if using external auth sources like google, ms, fb would lower the barrier. I also use doorman, and I want to allow only neighbours to create an account.

So what happens if I enable some external auth? Can already existing member use it for login? And will doorman restriction still work with external auth members? Will the user info be matched by email or how does it go between flarum user and external auth?

ikkeT yes you can add fof/oauth afterwards. On the security page you can link your enabled oauth providers later as well. Username / Password is of course valid also after enabling an oauth provider. You can see that here on discuss with GitHub oauth provider actually.
fof/doorman has an option to either be still required or skipped for oauth users.

I do want to add that you can perhaps collect emails as well and register the accounts with your tenants.
All they have to do is type their emails in the login page and they'll get a link to login with: https://discuss.flarum.org/d/22606-passwordless-login
As another avenue to tackle this.
