flarum/messages 2.0.0-beta.5 Private messaging doesn't work

I'm trying the Flarum 2 beta. The "Messages" extension (2.0.0-beta.5) can't deliver a message, once enabled:

Note: I'm using postgres as the db. This is a Debian 13 install.

Actually, the message does send, despite that ominous red error message. Clicking the envelope icon in the upper right (for the recipient) will reveal it! And for the sender, clicking the envelope, then "VIEW ALL MESSAGES" will reveal it.

So it sort of half-works: the red error message is sort of a red herring it seems.

Would be value added if you can enable debug mode and copy the error message generated with the red box.
I wouldn't say it's a red herring. More so on the lines of something actually is broken that does need fixed, but the core functionality of message itself is working, which is good!

If the message sends, there's a good chance the error is related to email instead. The full error message from the logs should clarify if that's the case https://docs.flarum.org/troubleshoot/

clarkwinkelmann I managed to get the email notifications working, and indeed, this made the error disappear, for new messages. Thanks!

I guess the error message could have been more specific about the issue being the non-working email notification delivery

esbeeb Actually, you probably wouldn't have encountered this error if you used something like a database queue.

I'm using postgresql. Has anyone successfully gotten a database queue working with postgresql for the 2.0 beta? I can find no straightforward attestation to this working.
