andrewjs18 we've recently changed our stance on allowing private messages. It's true that in the past it was restricted to Flarum team only.
Now, we've started to open this up, starting with allowing @Supporters and @Contributors to do this. I did see you kindly made a donation via Open Collective yesterday (thank you so much for your support!), but that didn't yet get picked up by the automation. I just manually added you to the contributors group, so you should now be able to send private messages here.
andrewjs18 if someone is scamming people in a PM, there should be a way to report the PM to the staff.
I absolutely agree! It has been possible for a long time to flag posts in private messages, which then makes that private discussion visible to the moderators until it is resolved. Once resolved, then the private discussion is once again fully private between the participants only.
