argh! overwrote index.php

I accidentally uploaded an index.php file meant for another folder into the flarum directory and it overwrote the one currently there - and even if I drop back one from a backup it's asking me to install flarum again - so I entered all the db info and it threw up a ton of errors saying things exist or didn't eist - I'm stumped and don't really want to start it again.

webeecho you can find the original contents of index.php here flarum/flarumblob/v1.8.1/public/index.php Note that if you followed "Customizing Paths" instructions you'll have to modify it again.

Based on your description of the problem, it sounds like you also deleted the config.php file. If you have a copy of the old config file or can re-create it by hand, then Flarum will be able to connect to your existing database again.

yeah looks like the config too - I reuploaded it from a november backup and used the index.php file contents you sent, but it's still blank.

OK, I fixed it - the index.php page has ./site.php - I removed the ../ and it worked! Thanks so much!! PHEW!! Backing it up now!

I had a chance to review it better last night and no entries are loading and no icons are showing. WhenI log into admin, no extensions are loading. It's just a test site at the moment, but I spent a while getting it how I wanted it. The config.php file contains the right info as far as the mysql is concerned and I checked in phpmyadmin that info is still there.
when I visit the front end I get this message: Oops! Something went wrong. Please reload the page and try again. Reloading does nothing.

webeecho try running composer update and see if this resolves those issues.
Otherwise, there may be more that needs troubleshooting.

KBExit how? It was installed via CPanel / Softalicious. I cleared the cache in the admin page and that really helped, but somehow all the extensions are off and there are no entries - even though the entries can be seen in phpmyadmin and all that was changed was I dropped an index.php and config.php from another script into my flarum folder by mistake.
If I make a new post, it does show. It's just lost the previous test posts and settings

webeecho I strongly advise against installing Flarum with Softaculous as it's extremely insecure and exposed your sensitive files to the public.
I strongly advise you uninstall it immediately and install it as the official documents state.
