Doesn't send confirmation email. More errors...

The issue

Nobody can sign up anymore. At the top of the screen is says, "We've sent a confirmation email to o68870739@gmail.com. If it doesn't arrive soon, check your spam folder." The email doesn't arrive. If you click on "RESEND CONFIRMATION EMAIL," you get an angry red message at the bottom: "You're going a little too quickly. Please try again in a few seconds." That message never goes away. You can click on RESEND CONFIRMATION EMAIL as much as you want.

Storage logs - I guess there is something wrong with GuzzleHttp. It will send change your password emails...

All these extensions that are for v2.0, should I not use them?  Messenger doesn't work.

boohoo each line in your error log is cut short. If you look at the complete file we see at least one message directly referencing Mailgun and it seems to describe the problem in detail.

Based on the first half of the message, it looks like you might be trying to use a Mailgun sandbox account to send email, that will not work outside of your own test email list.

clarkwinkelmann to add, you need to configure your domain name to work with mailgun and then go from there to mitigate that issue.

On mailgun, when I try to set up my host, Bluehost, as it says in the instructions, I get:

SPF record cannot have more than 10 domains

I am looking at (https://asknicely.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/4401971736340--Email-Domain-What-to-Do-If-You-Have-More-Than-10-SPF-Records) to fix it. I think I will make a subdomain because the rest looks a little daunting.

Do you mean it will not work because I have to fix the sandbox account to work with my website provider or that it never works because it's "sandbox"...

boohoo I don't have a very good picture of the situation, particularly without the full error message.

If I remember correctly, when you configure your domain in Mailgun you get a new entry separate from the sandbox. Make sure you use credentials that are valid for your new domain and configure that domain in the Flarum mail settings.

clarkwinkelmann it walks you through the process. You just add the domain and it tells you everything you need to do.
boohoo you need to add your domain for Mailgun like: mail.domain.name and this will be your Mailgun sending domain that is not sandboxed.

Okay, thanks. It works now that I created a subdomain and figured out what mailing address I was sending from for the Flarum mailgun credentials.

Now I am having trouble with extensions neoncube/flarum-private-messaging and betterflarum's Messenger. Basically, it shows up on my extension page, but the functionality on my site isn't there. I'm going to putz around on this site for the solution.

boohoo if you have it enabled, it should be on the top right on desktop. But honestly, it's far from an ideal experience to use it. But that's my opinion.

Yeah, that was the problem. I couldn't find it. Well, I think my forum has everything technical worked out. Yeah! Now I'm just populating it for hypothetical users so that when they come there they will want to stay. I just need the ad banner that will make me money if the site becomes wildly, inexplicably wildly popular and just bankrupts me on hosting fees.

Well, I guess this is closed. I didn't do all the steps for mailgun:

Hadn't set up a custom domain. Because SPL or something had more than 10 or something I had to make and use a subdomain.
Had to research what email address my emails were sending from. I think I looked at the test emails I was supposed to send via a programming language. Was postmaster@subdomain. Used that in the Flarum email dashboard.

It works! Thanks, everybody. I finally finished it all! Now I just have to get users!!! I am currently trying to pre-populate it with content so people will want to join and stay on the site, but sites with more of a focus seem more worthy of traffic and get more traffic. Horrifically, I think my site caters mostly to me. Oh well.
