Approve new users?

I’m starting a new forum, and I want to keep the membership limited to people who are already members of my main site. In looking at the settings, I see sign-up can be either “open” or “closed.” Is there a way to allow people to sign up but I have to approve their user account?

PS -- SSO from Ghost would be nice. <g>

Bruce in Louisville you can simply set permissions so only a manually assinged group can post / view / etc.

So, I would let anyone sign up, but I would have to approve them as “members,” as it were? Yes, that might work.

Bruce in Louisville I've made Ghost and Flarum integrate before. Only problem is, users would have to "forgot password" on Flarum's side and close registrations on Flarum. This way Ghost is the truth of source for users.
