This barely relates to Mailcow. It merely happened to the sole Flarum instance that I observed this enabled at. I'm not familiar with your codebase, but it appears to indicate that this is part of the Flarum package:

So are you asking why the Flarum support forums does not utilize it? Or are you asking why it doesn't come preshipped with Flarum software in general?

I've assumed that the GitLab OAuth integration is a first-party option, like the GitHub one is. If so, why is it not enabled on this instance? I'm asking because the cited (private) thread is about it not functioning:

Therefore, I want to know whether it's disabled here because of a bug, or whether that's coincidental.

RokeJulianLockhart no it's not a core extension. It's an extension. I do not know if there's a bug or not and it's probably not enabled here as the devs only use GitHub and it's more common vs. the alternative you mention.

RokeJulianLockhart it's fine. Mistakes happen and I don't anticipate everyone to know everything, because I certainly don't.
But yes, there are several Flarum extensions that accept Oauth for various platforms. There's a good chance they use FoF Oath, which may require additional tweaking by a private API key for said platform.
