Hi everyone,
My Flarum forum is running version 1.8. I would like to enable the Pagination extension(FoskyM
/flarum-pagination), but after turning it on, my forum homepage becomes completely blank (DOM rendering fails:both the header and discussion list disappear).
After troubleshooting, I found that the issue is a conflict between Pagination and Flarum's native Sticky extension. When I disable Sticky, Pagination works normally.
However, for a forum, the sticky/pinning feature is very important and cannot be simply disabled. I tried installing Stickiest (the Super Sticky extension) to enhance the pinning logic, but since Stickiest depends on the native Sticky, I still cannot keep both Sticky functionality and Pagination enabled at the same time – the blank page issue persists.
I would like to ask: for those forum administrators who have successfully enabled Pagination, how did you handle this conflict? How can I resolve the blank page issue caused by Pagination? Is there any specific configuration required, or are there any known compatibility patches available?
Let me also explain why I need Pagination.
Flarum's default infinite scroll feed has two major pain points in my use case:
Inconvenient browsing – users cannot simply scroll down continuously to find older discussions.
Scroll position loss – when mobile users click into a discussion and then go back to the homepage, the page often refreshes or jumps back to the top. As a result, they lose their scroll position in the infinite feed. This creates a very poor browsing experience on mobile devices, and most of my users are on mobile.
My requests:
Is there any way to fix the compatibility conflict between Pagination and Sticky, and resolve the blank page issue when Pagination is enabled?
If the conflict truly cannot be resolved, are there any stable alternatives that can fix the scroll position memory problem in Flarum's native infinite scroll mode? (For example, allowing users to return to the homepage list at the same position they were in when they clicked into a discussion.)
Given that discussions on my forum will continue to grow over time, I really hope to implement something like Pagination. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
