Creating accounts for users via the Admin panel

The issue

I want to create an account for a user. I'm wondering about the intended use for the "Generate random password" toggle? I was hoping it's part of a flow where the user gets an email saying an account has been made for them and they should reset their password (and in the meantime it's random). But it looks you need to also toggle "Require user to confirm this email" in order for them to get any communication about it, and even then, it doesn't tell them they should change their password.

It seems like a minor annoyance waiting to happen: they use the invite link to log in, use the forum, then time passes and they eventually get logged out. But then when they want to log back in, they realize they never actually set a password, then they have to reset their password. Not the end of the world, but not the best UX. Or am I missing something?

No, this is just a UX question. And an admin question. What I would expect when creating a new user is for them to get an email saying "You're now a user in this Flarum forum! Click here to log in". Then when they click to log in, they're prompted to set a password. This makes sense in my head.

Although now that I think of it, my forum is closed to registration. You have to be granted an account manually by the admin. Maybe this is why this use case hasn't been thought about -- most forums are open for anyone to register themselves. Well, if anyone feels like adding this feature, it would be really great.

Biff have you looked into the Referral Extension? It allows you to make referral codes mandatory on registration.
