I’ve been an Apple user since 2010. Can’t say I’m a fanboy since the Apple devices have occasionally disappointed me, so I have used Android phones next to my iPhone too, but they always make me realize how the critiques I make on the iPhone are small compared to Android 😃
Anyway, Apple are expected to announce a foldable iPhone this autumn and I was initially very enthusiastic that I will get one but after digging into the foldable phone experience with Samsung and Pixel, I think a foldable phone is not for me and is, indeed, a gimmick, so I will either keep my trusty iPhone 15 Pro Max for one more year, or will upgrade to the rumored 18 Pro Max but I don’t see what a new phone will give me. There’s been some technological saturation in the smartphone market and I don’t play mobile games, so even a 3 year old phone is still perfect for me. Besides, all new phones are now getting serious price increases due to the memory shortages caused by the AI-driven memory demand.
