Issue with mails

Hey guys,

I use this setting for emails (screenshot below)

It works well, but it only sends emails to @gmail.com and is unable to send to other domains like @proton.me, @outloo.com, and others (including some business emails) ... as far as I checked, it is only sending emails to @gmail.com and @yahoo.com

I want to know if it is a DNS config error or something else ? ... Please help me to understand.

xa_sharma this is not Flarum related but might be an issue with not a proper setup of your mail server. Bigger companies will block you if not properly setup.

You need to properly configure rDNS, DKIM, SPF, and DMARC so that providers (Outlook, Yahoo, among others) recognize your mail server as trusted and don't block your messages.

I recommend using tools like https://mail-tester.com/ or https://dmarcian.com/ to test whether your server meets these requirements.

Of course, this is just the basics, and I can't write a full guide without seeing your actual setup, as it varies quite a bit from server to server.

If you need further help, send over your mail server logs from when you try to send emails and the provider blocks them.

Outlook is particularly strict about emails and I want to say they go a step further with reputation.
This is why I stand behind and use Mailgun personally. No matter what I had, sending emails to Outlook inboxes remained a challenge due to reputation.

Not a trusted Domain
Misconfiguration
Blacklisted
