Script to install on fresh Ubuntu 16.10

Hi folks,

Seem to be having various problems installing this on Linode... I'm obviously missing a step somewhere!

Does anyone have pre-made shell script that can be run to install and set everything up? Nginx, apt-get, mysql, etc etc etc...

Yeah, I did try that... yet unfortunately never seemed to work ?

I don't know what's going on with 16.10. I tried to change my IP to the static block at my residence and it never agreed with my gateway.

I modified kulgas script lastnite and successfully installed beta6 on 16.04.1LTS. You could give it a shot, but no guarantees.

Script seemed to be running well until the composer stage... any suggestions? (looking into it my end)

Doh. Just realised I can't upload an image.

So I see:
Installing flarum..
Installing flarum/flarum (v0.1.0-beta.6)
[ErrorException]
mkdir(): Permission denied

Then after that I get various permission issues as the directory doesn't exist ?

Make the directory of the user you are currently logged in as before installing with composer or switch to the web user using chown or sudo su.

Excuse me being a Linux noob here...

I logged in as root, then created a new user and added to sudo list. Switched to that user and then ran the script...

So you're saying, before running that script, I should switch to a different to the user then the one I have created? Tad confused here.

You switched to that new user, but that user has no right over the folder you are attempting to install in/create a folder in. Allow the user to create a subfolder in the current folder. There are multiple ways, one of which is chowning.
