Support for AWS S3

I posted in an older post and never received an answer. I want to put Flarum on the AWS Beanstalk and storing images locally will not work. I want to use Amazon S3 for storing avatars. So, I understand the underpinning Flarum code has this in mind yet I am not as familiar with versions of Laravel older than 5.0.

Could you please point me in the right direction for altering Flarum to allow moving avatars to S3? I don’t need you to write my code. I just need to know where to make the appropriate changes.

I'm working on a generic upload extension, I'll see if I can add an option that allows you to use the same storage for avatars as for post attachments (the extension).

BobDietz I've already done a first attempt at overriding the Avatar filesystem. This however seemed more complex than anticipated because Flarum uses the nifty "Contextual Binding" feature of Laravel which is a feature that goes almost completely outside of the IoC in terms of extendability.

Kajack Flagrow Upload supports S3. Avatars do not. We have an existing GitHub issue for the latter flarum/core1783

clarkwinkelmann Yeah, sorry. I noticed I replied a post 3 years ago too late. Anyways I already solved the issue by doing a workaround. Using EFS with the AWS EB. It went well so far.
