Reinstalling

I had installed Flarum last night, and it worked perfectly, but I messed something up and reinstalled it many times. It hasn't been installing the same, always without icons and the mandatory extentions all disabled - making the entire thing break once installing it.

I've tried:
Reinstalling Composer.
Reinstalling XAMPP.

I've of course gotten rid of the files and database each time.

I really need Flarum for the project I am working on, someone please help.

There's php config, webserver config (apache or nginx usually), web files and database.

I run a script to delete these 4 and reinstall numerous times without issue. So perhaps you should look into the two config files, though that doesn't make much sense for the exact issue you're having.

My guess is this is something to do with XAMPP, or you are not truly deleting all files as you think you are.

Everything in htdocs.
Database.

Is htdocs the webroot?

The delete script is very simple. I trashed that test server recently, but remake it on the fly if need be.

I remove the flarum install directory, remove the php config file, remove the nginx file, and delete the database and user.

Not sure I'll run through an install try to replicate the issue, there might have been a regression. It'll have to wait, history in the making right now...

Be sure your web browser isn't caching something. I've had flarum installs be completely borked repeatably until I finally opened a different browser and redid the install.
Just a thought.

With chrome you not only have to clear your cache, but actually restart the browser afterwards.

The thing is, some extensions are disabled, and when I enable them, the forum breaks.

wynxorian Then it's probably the extensions that are incompatible. You can modify the enabled ones in the database or remove them via composer if it breaks the install. Can you list the ones that break the install?
