Create a tag where you can see own posts, but not others

As the title says. I was wondering if it was possible to make a tag that anyone can access, but they can only see threads that they have created. So like, if someone has to contact Moderators and Admins, but in a private way without everyone else who is on the forum being able to see it. This is different from a private message feature, which i have read is in the works. Xenforo currently has a feature like this, and i was curious if there was a way to do it with Flarum. If not, i can arrange other ways for people to be able to contact higher ups in the mean time for our site.

Flufikas I agree that users need some way to contact the forum staff privately. The devs are already looking into ways of providing for this. Please refer to flarum/core959 for details.

In fact it sounds very much like the planned Private Discussions feature. This feature, which can be found in esoTalk, is different from private messaging as seen in other forum scripts. The person who creates a private discussion can select one or more users and/or groups who will be able to see and participate in the discussion.

There will probably also be a "Private" link in the sidebar (similar to the Following link you can see there now) that will allow you to display a list of the private conversations you're participating in. This should eliminate the need for a special tag of the sort you suggest. (We'd want to avoid involving tags, as that would make the private conversation functionality dependent on the Tags extension.)

I'm just guessing about these details based on how esoTalk does things, but I'd be surprised if these guesses were very much off the mark.

Administration ==> Permissions ==> Restrict by Tag ==> choose tag and set who will be view discussions

sizonov_stas You can't change the View permission and keep the Start permission to Members. View is the overriding permission to control the entire tag. This request (and it's been made before, I simply can't find the topic at this moment) would require an extension.

Hopefully it can be customized in a way that certain groups (ex. Moderators and Admins depending on how you set permissions) can see those threads all the time. For things such as issues that both groups could deal with. Or the ability for the creator to tag whole groups as well as individuals.

If it's anything like esoTalk, then the thread creator would need to specify those groups when creating the thread.

That's how it's done in esoTalk. The thread creator can specify any number of individuals or any number of groups, in any combination. I believe the plan is to do the same for Flarum.
