Hello, So i wanted to setup mailgun to work with my flarum forum...so I created an account and verified my sub-domain and then went to the admin cp amd entered all the credentials in the email section.....but it doesn't seem to work cuz when i test it by sending myself a password reset email, it takes time then gives me the "oops! Something went wrong....." And there's no debug option even tho its enabled in config .... So what am I doing wrong? Can i send anyone of you the screenshot of all tye credentials I entered and see if anything is wrong?

You should most definitely get a debug button when you enabled it in config, can you post that part of the config? Also try: php flarum cache:clear if(window.hljsLoader && !document.currentScript.parentNode.hasAttribute('data-s9e-livepreview-onupdate')) { window.hljsLoader.highlightBlocks(document.currentScript.parentNode); }

Did you follow this guide? https://discuss.flarum.org/d/2315-mailgun-configuration You need to change your 'mail_driver' to smtp, that's the problem I had.

luceos found the issue with debug, when I changed the value to "true" I forgot to save it XD one second while I enable debug and post what it says here ?

I actually have exactly the same configuration set up as you [deleted] . Did you check your spam folder?

luceos You are right but the problem is that I tried using mail sending PHP script on the same hosting with same credentials and it worked fine, emails are not even sent to spam.
I can send you that email script if you need.

@luceos Follow up : So i just tested and sent myself a password reset for this forum (flarum forum) and it also ended up in my spam folder! So it's not a problem on my server's side, it seems to be a problem on the software's side :/

Sadly, it's not Flarum fault that some mails can be tagged as spam by your mail provider. As example, the mails sent by some of my flarum's installation are tagged as spam and others are not.

BlackSheep but how come the emails from this forum are also tagged as spam? It must be the content flarum has in their emails

He means that when a user receives an email they may mark it as spam. You can also have an IP that is blacklisted as promoting spam or in other ways having malicious activity associated with it.

It's an issue that has been going on for a while. Just like IRL when someone attempts to mar another's reputation, they spread false rumor. This false rumor here takes on the form as false spam marking.

webeindustry doesn't seem like that cuz im only facing this issue with flarum....for example when i set flarum to send emails as example@mydomain.com , it ends up in spam but if I personally send an email with the same address from the same server, it doesn't get marked as spam....

Then it's the spam detectors not liking the format of the email sent by Flarum.

Let us know how many points you receive. I'd like to hone in on if the formatting is a minor or major issue here. If your score is 9-10 and getting sent to spam then that's an issue. If it's iffy then simply improving your score may resolve this.

webeindustry that's exactly what i had in mind... @Toby please try change the style of flarum emails and test them till u find one that doesn't end up in the spam folder.

To be fair, I think it would be a fools errand to expect all spam detectors to like an auto-generated mailer. We need to have more information and make sure this is an issue to be resolved on our end.
