Continued E-Mail notification

Hi!
Is it possible to get an e-Mail notification every time someone replies without checking the site?
Also it would be good to read the complete post not only the first x words.

In an related issue an extension would be nice where I not only can read every reply by e-Mail in an observed topic but also to reply by e-Mail, open new topics etc. (Making flarum to an forum/mailinglist hybrid.)

It is a feature of Flarum.
You can also follow a thread that you are interested in and receive every reply from that thread via email.
There is no working extension of that right now.

Flarum has a feature of email notification where you can read a reply from your post and from the thread you are following.

Currently, there is no working extension to reply directly from email.

To enable email notification, please go to your profile - settings.

Digital yes but can't we have the users have notifications on by default instead of off? And also can't we have an option to make users get notifications of topics they replied to instead of following them? And also automatically follow the threads made by us?

Hm, that are the same settings I use for my forum and here. But that's not what I'm asking for. With these settings I only get the first response after I visited and/or wrote a reply in the discussion and when someone mentions or replies to me directly.
What I'm asking for is a notification every time someone writes a message in the followed discussion.

It is off by default.
There is an option to auto-follow the topic you replied on (Meaning you'll get notified on every replies).
Go to Profile - Settings - Notifications
There is no such option at the moment.

[deleted] You would need to create an extension that activates on the event UserWasRegistered, I think. Then you would add the correct value to their database entry.

jordanjay29 the only coding language i am very experienced at is swift....so I don't really have the ability to code an extension ?

And that's true. If you or someone else had replied on your post, I would not get a notification.

Thank you Digital for your detailed explanation. I think we talked at cross purposes, it was my bad as I used the word 'reply' in an misunderstanding way.
I meant with 'reply' an answer to the complete discussion (orange Button) not when I mention someone explicitly with his ID (which is almost the same as using the 'reply under the post' button).

When I'm following a discussion, which I do here, I only get a message on the very next entry (see my post achlys) or if I get mentioned ('replied to'). But there seems no way to get every entry made (and not only the very next entry or when replied to me explicitly).

I didn't get any notification because you didn't do "number 2" (please see below) and i am not following this topic and you didn't mentioned my ID on your last post (you'll receive notification on either methods)

I think there are things you do not understand here. See below for some explanation.

For you to be able to receive all posts on the topic you are interested, you will need to follow that thread/topic (By clicking the "Follow" button).
Now, if you want to received a reply to your post (single post), the user who are replying needs to click the "reply" link (literally under your post). Note: NOT the color orange reply button. Please see the image below.

On this method you won't get a notification if the user reply via orange reply button.

You will get a notification if/by...

By following a topic/thread (receive every single replies)
If the user replies via "reply under the post"
If someone mentioned your ID
