when I tried to install flarum, why is this happening?

run in the flarum directory:

composer install --no-dev --prefer-dist

Am not sure that fixed the issue what i realised when i downloaded flarum via composer the whole size of the installation was just 15kb

You may need to remove the folder and try the installation create-project command again.
