Hmm, I think "professional" may be in the eye of the beholder here? The reality is a lot of mail-clients, mobile devices, and even browsers don't work with HTML in full or at all.
I do prefer a good looking email, but simple text does the job when it's something you'll look at once, to perform a specific function, and be done with it in a few seconds.
Maybe someone can help you out here. I'm sure this could be made into an extension with a little time. Good luck!
