Upgrading from Beta 2 is going to be very difficult and require technical knowledge. We've helped a couple users through who absolutely needed to save their data, but it has meant they need to manually tweak their installation for every subsequent upgrade. This means, even if we upgraded you to Beta 6, for the next release, Beta 7, you'd have to come back and get more support because it wouldn't just upgrade easily.
Since Beta 3, Flarum has used Composer to install, which means we no longer distribute the zip file. That's why you're only finding Beta 2's zip file.
My suggestion is to reinstall Flarum fresh and manually restore the old topics you need. There shouldn't be many more hiccups along the way, but there's really no guarantee. That's why Flarum is still in beta and carries a warning not to use in production, you do so at your own risk.
