I hear two parties with a passive aggressive stance and the same hope to get to stable.
A full time dev, unless either Toby or Franz, will not be of any help. Much of what Flarum should look like in the stable release is still being debated on or under design.
The attraction of Flarum is based on one hand on Toby's amazing understanding on how to rethink the concept of discussion boards and on the other hand the unlimited possibilities of modern front- and backend frameworks. Part of this sentence has its foundation in a creative process, something that needs time - as with a good wine - to mature.
I've been frustrated in the past as well about the (lack of) progress. But recently I came to an understanding that being available as a contributor, staff, fan and extension developer might provide the needed motivation to have the core team press forward. Because, knowing how much work and family life can have an effect on open source contributions, for them to see us actively participate in the community could be everything they need.
I'd like to point out that discussions with such a topic are a very healthy sign that all of us are firmly behind Flarum. We just have to have patience and entertain ourselves with the version and extensions available right now.
