internal server error

hi all! I installed flarum as written in the docs: composer create-project flarum/flarum . --stability=beta in my ubuntu vps... the things seems be done:

but when I try to connect it gives me internal server error and I don't have config.php...
what can I do?

Seems composer finished successfully. Could you give more information about your installation, like OS etc. Also please post the output of php flarum info make sure they are within triple backticks.

Your webserver configuration is incorrect. The request is not hitting php yet.

Use Webeindustries install script

Follow the prompts

Profit.

Something like:

ssh ubuntu@yourhostip 
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get upgrade
sudo apt-get dist-upgrade
sudo apt-get install wget
wget https://raw.githubusercontent.com/webeindustry/flarumvpsinstallscript/patch-1/script
sudo chmod +x script
sudo ./script

Remember your testing, so expect to re-install again. This script makes it really easy.

On the contrary my friend, webeindustries install script is updated to work with Ubuntu 16.04. Slightly more updated script. However, I do believe its originally based on Kulga's script.

I just happen to test webeindustries script first. so like a Chinese restaurant; I just keep going back to what I know is good, instead of taking a risk on something new.

Its always good to have options XD

0E800 Yeah, Kulga's was written just before 16.04 dropped. It's really trivial to update to the latest, even though everything should work with both for now. And 14.04 is supported through 2019, so there's no fear of security problems compromising it yet. At this point, either one is a good call.

It has php7. That's not a trivial update ? They both have the same amount of steps. If you have ubuntu 14.04 use Kulga's original version. If you can have ubuntu 16.04 use my update to his script. Php7 performance enhancements make it worth it.

No your problem happened during install. If it is successful a config.php will be written to the flarum webroot. Delete folder, create a new one, run install again & paste the error here.
