rafaucau I agree, yes that would be a better approach, BUT..
We'd have to include a new migration to remove the additional columns (if they exist) from the posts table and move any existing data to the new pivot table as well, which would likely take a similar amount of time.
Of course, for installations that have never installed or enabled this extension, no problem at all, but for those that have, and have a large number of rows in their posts table.....
