Hey, I am just trying to figure out if I can set a "parent" tag when creating a tag via the /api/tags POST call.

Did you try to inspect the API calls when using the admin UI ?

luceos Still trying to figure out a workaround for this. Just need an easy way to set "movie" for example as the parent.

I also just noticed that if you use the API to "re-order" you have to re-order all of the tags in the forum or else the order gets whipped.

So if you have 10 parent tags with 50 children you need to keep track of all of those and send them with the request for them to retain their order.

Yeah I remember a while ago, SSL had a Discord bot which automatically posted scammer numbers to my website, they never used tags which bugged me.
