I never try smtp on flarum but in principle, if you are using relay, it should be smtp-relay rather than smtp. I normally use port 587 but others may use port 465 instead. You must also activate two factor authentication and get the password from that i.e. you don't use your normal password. I believe if you do it right it should just work.
