Emoji Customization?

Greetings.

I'm not a native English speaker so I apologize for my confusing English.

I would like to know if there is a possibility for a feature or extension to allow images or icons stored in local server to be used as emoji? I'm from a small community of RC hobbyists in Japan and we have one community member who drew a set of images inspired by RC (cars, copters, planes) for our Flarum forum as emoji. The problem is we don't have a feature or extension to allow us to use those images as emoji so we cannot use the images as our forum emoji.

Is there at least an extension that allows Flarum users to make their own emoji for their forums from images uploaded to their storage/server? Or to allow emoticon or emoji from third party artist or website to use as forum emoji or perhaps to customize emoji?

The idea: user can choose an image stored locally in the server then choose or create a code to use as emoji. For example imageHappy.png is chosen and the code for it to use as emoji is ::happy or //happy//. Then anybody in the forum can use that emoji simply by typing ::happy or //happy// in the post editor to show the emoji in a post in a similar way of how regular emoji is used.

Is it possible to have this as a feature or perhaps extension?

I do not think this is exactly what you are looking for but i think this will help you use emoji (EmojiOne) on your Flarum convenietly.

From what I understand and know, the emoji's that come packed with Flarum is Twitter styled.

Adding custom emoji code => image is pretty easy with an extension (if you want to pre-build them into an extension)

There is no extension that allows to do that from the admin panel or forum at the moment.

What could help you is a possibility for adding custom smiley pack. That would be a feature many people would like to have. I am not sure one exists for Flarum right now.

Thank you very much for the suggestion but yes, we have already tried that, but it offers generic or rather universal emoji used by common chat or message apps. I was looking for the custom image as emoji.

Yes, it's the generic/universal emoji. The likes of LINE use it.

Yes, I was looking for an extension with exactly that feature as you described. Unfortunately right now there is none, so I wonder if I missed something and anybody could point me into the right extension/developer.

Custom smiley might be the one that I was looking for providing it allows customization to change the image of a smiley.

Actually someone posted something recently on Flarum discussion which exactly describes my needs. I apologize to everybody involved in this thread as my English skill is lacking and I couldn't clearly describe what I need. But this thread provides description of an extension I was looking for for our private forums.
