Navigation and Scroll Bars.

Upon going back to the forum from a thread, the forum doesn't go to it's previous position, meaning you have to scroll back to where you previously were.

Is there any way to implement this?

Toby I think this is what IcePikmin means.. If a user is reading post 341 out of 900 in a particular thread, and goes to another page, if and when he comes back to that thread, it should open automatically at post 341 so that he can continue reading from there.

Yep, that's what I mean 🙂
The same thing applies to clicking back from a thread to the thread list. If I'm half way down the thread list, then the view should return me to that point.

So basically ... it would be nice if Flarum would default to the earliest unread reply.

Though how it would track that is beyond me. 😛

Odd. When I click on a thread it does take me to the next unread reply (the previous position).
This isn't already implemented? Using Firefox 40.0 here.

Hmm ... come to think of it, you're right. It works on Safari for me as well.

Perhaps the phenomenon the OP is referring to is related to this issue here?

Yeah, this is implemented. If it's not working, it's a bug, and we'll need some reliable steps to reproduce.

Probably the most critical bug there is is whatever is causing @tarun's avatar to not load.

Aesahaettr Good observation. Although now it's not broken anymore like it was yesterday. It's defaulted back to the initial based image. I wonder what broke/reset it in the first place.

The behaviour described by @tarun could be reproduced with Safari 7.0 on OS X 10.9, but not with Firefox 40.0.3. Error console shew nothing.

Go to discuss.flarum.org and click on "Show more" at the bottom of the main area.
Scroll down a couple of page-views, click a thread, spend some time in it, then click the back-button of the browser.
You will find yourself with the same view as after 1. if you use Safari, but if you use Firefox you are scrolled down and the list is still expanded (as intended).

This is somewhat related to the "Show x updated discussions" alert (http://discuss.flarum.org/d/629-show-updated-discussions-should-be-fixed). When it has been made to float as proposed in the referenced thread, it would seem natural if the updated threads were bounced automatically and clicking the alert-box simply served to take you to the top of the page, where you see the updated threads oscillating for a short while, like when hovering over a replied to post-label. If you like the idea.
