Suggestion: Ignored user

Hello Flarum community,
i suggest to make an extention to ignored user.
For example if i think that a specific user is boring i want possibility to ignored or block it.
Is this extension? Or Can you make this extention?

What exactly do you mean by blocking ? Removing notifications from that user or also hiding content from/to that user ? You're probably already aware we can ignore discussions at the moment.

In the case of Byobu it might actually be useful to block a user from adding you to new private discussions.

I've never actually used this feature yet, but the button says:

Ignoring
Never be notified. Hide from the discussion list.

I'm not sure it's a good idea to hide content from a specific user inside a discussion, you might miss a lot of stuff. Or maybe hide all discussions created by this user from the homepage ? Must be a hell of a boring person to want to do that ? If the person is spamming there are already tools to report and block a user globally.

clarkwinkelmann Typical implementations I've seen leaves a placeholder where the ignored user's post would be, notifying the user that this is someone they've ignored, so discussion flow isn't completely confusing.

Also, this can be useful for someone whose posts get on your nerves (I've used it before as a means of self-control to avoid responding) or with whom you've had a past dispute or is pestering you but not spamming or harassing to break the rules.

I believe the term is "send to junk". Thereby either ignoring the sender 'poster' or the @.org "post thread". I like it.

Some peeps just don't need to be herd. Some subjects ignored.

One little feature not shown is the ability to show the post for that single post one-time (going away when you reload it). As much as you might dislike someone, if they made a pivotal post, you're left out of the loop if you're prevented from seeing it (or forced to manually remove them from the block list, then re-add them)

Ok , my suggestion maybe will serve to make a valide extention to "ignoring user" .
If someone of you want to make this extention i think that it will help to better Flarum platform.

Ignored User List is famous among other forum software such as Vbulletin, Xenforo, etc.

On a site I grew up on posting in, they developed an advanced feature called "Super Ignore" which removes the user from view of any part of the forum UI and them being able to message you.

I like to call it "Ghosting".
