Front/main page to complement Flarum?

Yo! What does everyone use for front/main page on their domain? Unless you're running flarum directly in root.

The front page of my website is just a normal site using Ghost software, and Flarum is the software I use for my forum. Nice, simple and clean; just the way I like it. ?

I use a bootstrap template for my main website and Flarum is in a subdirectory.

AngelAvila Looks pretty neat. I'm curious how those menus in Flarum is made in the header. "Home > Guidelines > FAQ", and so on.

Totte It is amazing. I much prefer it over WordPress and it serves its purpose well. Once it's final and up and running I'd be happy to share the site. ?

I have managed to install it using Softaculous on my own hosting service.

Prosperous I'm thinking of giving some flat file CMS a go as front page. With blog/news post functionality. Such as Grav or something.

Totte I've never heard of it! Nothing wrong with giving it a go. I've used WordPress for so many years and once I stumbled upon Ghost, it just left me astounded. I love it despite it being in the early stages just like our very own Flarum is.

Prosperous I've tried Ghost locally, it's blazing fast and simply amazing. Too much hassle to get it running alongside Apache & Nginx though I think. I'm currently running Grav which is flat file, on my private page.

This on I haven't done much to, it's pretty much the "standard skeleton" of a Grav page.
Although, I just got an idea. It's quite similar to Grav's header bar. Could make them look the same and it'll probably end up pretty nice together.

Flat File = No database, everything's stored in files.

Totte Very nice actually, good stuff. It's always a good thing to know exactly what products are out there! Ghost does meet all my needs at the moment and I love the software thus far so it's gonna stick until I find something better.

Don't judge just yet, but this is what mine looks like for now, https://garygomes.com/, but I've still got a long way to go yet. A lot of my content and pages are hidden until I am ready for launch. I'd also like to note that I've always been a fan of using software out-of-the-box. Themes and fancy modifications/customisations are not my thing. ?

Nothings been committed yet because of the way we work on projects but it will be a WIP soon.

The way I imagine it is that the forum UI listing new posts and tags will be rerouted to /forums or a custom route if we decide to go down that path. That way when the FPMS gets it's standard functions, the main landing page will be a CMS styled front page.

I've played around with it for 2-3 days.
I'm already thinking of getting rid of my Xenforo license.

Everything costs so bloody much when it comes to plugins. I'm fine paying like 5-8$/plugin when I paid 150$ for the Xenforo license in the first place. I'm all for supporting the devs, I know the hard work they put in creating the plugins, but when you gotta pay 50-60$/plugin which there are no free options for AND a 30-50$ for branding removal, people start looking for something else. And I believe I've found it.

Totte I gave up on Vbulletin and XenForo ever since the price for "pro" plugins went up.

I mean I know it's inevitable that when Flarum gets it's first release out of beta, developers will start creating ways to charge for extensions (but to me it wouldn't make any sense because everyone and their mother nulls scripts when they don't want others to pay a buttload of mula for a simple plugin).

I foresee a lot of new developers joining the scene as things progress, but I'm just really waiting on people (other than the core devs) that there's a bunch of bugs and tweaks needing to be looked at for even beta 7 to reach a release state.
