Question about sub-forums or "tags"

Hey, I was wondering if Flarum allows to make a sub-forum or "tag" where it's content is only visible to Mods and higher.

You can do that quite easily with Flarum's stock installation.

First create a tag via the 'Tags' section of the admin panel. Then go to the 'Permissions' section and click on 'Restrict by Tag'. Choose the newly created tag. Now you can set your restrictions on that tag as you like, e.g. restrict 'View discussions' to Admins and Mods.

Pollux I tried what you suggested but, I want to make it so that the members can still post with the tag but only mods+ be able to see the discussion (and the member who created it of course). Like a in-forum private support system.

I understand what you mean.

In this case, I suggest to have a look at the Flagrow byōbu extension, which allows for private discussions. With this extension anyone can set up a discussion with a freely selected number of participants. Participants can be either individuals or user groups. In your case the said user would have to select himself plus the moderators' group. The discussion can also be initiated by a mod with the same settings. Tags are not needed in this case.

Unfortunately, users would need to know these steps to start this kind of conversation with moderators. Until now there is no solution for a simple "chat with moderators" button.
