Flarum Export / Import

I think it would be very important to have a accessible export / import of all flarum users, posts, tags, etc to help with protecting upgrades. This would be a useful safeguard if a update goes bad and would permit a fresh install while protecting existing data.

Backing up would be wise.
I'm not a dev so I won't speculate further.
This is partially why I hope some kind of Kulga of data is implemented to make this less of an issue

I think that belongs into the extension space, to be honest.

That said, you should definitely make ~~upgrades~~ backups of files and the database before updates.

After Toby response I agree. A quick mysql dump will serve this purpose perfectly and can be used since old databases will work in newer flarum upgrades (very important part)
My test install will be stressing this since I have a database dump I will be constantly restoring with with future upgrades of flarum.
For those with less access, a http, extension based method may be better at some point for those who need it.

Thought I'd bring this up again in light of users having difficulty in upgrading.
Granted, it is beta and should be expected to have complex upgrading tasks, but the real issue isn't so much protecting the whole database, it's protecting critical stuff like user accounts and discussions. Being able to separate that from the database would be phenomenal, even if there was a loss in other data like ip addresses with user posts, etc.

Unfortunately, as it is, if there is a jump in version and the database upgrade fails, it's lost, even with hourly backups 🙁
