Use Pockethold to install Flarum but proc_open of PHP is disabled

My PHP meet all the requirements but proc_open is disabled in php.ini, (shared hosting, nothing I can do), so the Composer failed to download Flarum.

Can I download Flarum in advance and put it there to proceed the installing? If yes, then where should I upload Flarum to?

Can I ask you to post the contents of temp/composer.log?

Alas, fopen(), used by Pockethold seems to be working, as composer has been downloaded.

proc_open() is used by composer (This was new to me), and I am not sure if there is much I can do if proc_open() is indeed blocked by your host.

Again, I am not sure if I can help until I see the error log.

Ok, I have been digging some into Composer's source, and it is supposed to have a fallback in-case of proc_open() is not available.. .

I will try to replicate it by blocking proc_open on my test-bed.
Not sure if I can manage to do it today though.

I'll get back to you when I have a final answer if there is a workaround or not.

I got some good, and some bad news :/
Good news is that I managed to install flarum on my testbed with proc_open disabled. This went for both the unstable version, and the latest release.

I did not test the first release though..

The bad news then, is that I have no idea why you get that message at all :/

May I ask what host you use?

My host is 52host.net, not a famous one but stable and cheap, I have been with them for 5 years.

Is there a way to try this proc_open disabled version? Your good news sounds thrilling, I am ready to see Flarum.

As mentioned, both my unstable version, and "release" version managed to install, so if neither of these works on your host, there might be something else that blocks it.

Alternatively, could you add <?php phpinfo.php ?> to a .php file, and then search for "disabled_functions" so I can try again with those?

I received a 500 Internal Server Error while run phpinfo file, permission is 777, while installer.php can run.
