Subdomain

Is there a way to keep the regular domain ie: domain.com/forums and also setup a subdomain ie: forums.domain.com i tried setting this up with my dns manager and it just says

"This site can't be reached"
when I visit the domain.com/forums link the website responds but the subdomain one ( forums.domain.com ) doesnt work

If you do things right with a domain control panel, what you put in a subdomain is very much independent of what you put in a sub folder.

It's highly discouraged from both a user experience and search engine standpoint.

I recommend you setup a redirect to your favorite of the two options. Also easier to setup and maintain.
