Signature extension which does not allow images?

Hi Guys,

What the best extension to allow signatures. For example: xengine/flarum-ext-signature

I would like to find and install a signature extension that does not allow images. Only text (limited # of charactors) and links. (limited # of URLs in signature).

I'm hoping that it simply auto appends the signature to the end of each post so that even if the extension is removed it won't affect existing posts.

Anything close which can be used to achieve this?

So you mean all existing signatures won't be updated if the user changes its signature ?

If the signature is appended to / part of the message, how do you count links/images in it ? Users will be able to edit it without restriction...

Lot's to consider yes.

That's correct. Old sigs don't get updated. Unless its an official Flarum extension were there's no worry of extension losing support.

The most important are... no images and restriction to # of characters. As per the long term compatibility with flarum. As you point out that's not as easy/seamless to solve unless and official extension.

Even if you had an extension with your desired restrictions, how would you prevent people from doing what they shouldn't do inside the post itself?

Pollux ...It's like you are always right behind me. lol

For now the worry is just within signatures. I know with vBulletin a decade ago and others you can restrict the use of images, restrict the # of links in sig, # of words/text. Something similar would be a good start.

It's about scaling. Images in sigs are cool but not really necessary. Which may or may not be the reason it's not part of Flarum's core. I like the efficiency approach. But esp for tech forums allowing signatures with one or two links can be useful for obvious reasons.

Why don't you just make it a policy not to include images into the signature?

I personally don't like signatures. It's like repeating ad nauseam, what might interest me the first time, but not so much thereafter. If I feel the need to learn more about a particular user, I look into his profile to find out. But usually it's the given answers, which boost my confidence, not some acclaimed expertise.

Vbulletin logic of signature configuration options is what you're probably looking for no? Limiting the amount of images (if any at all), emojis, text, the works.
