Adjacency of replies to the "original post"

I love the UX of Flarum! For my own use case, it's almost ready to use out of the box.

There's one twist I need: I'd like a reply to be adjacent to its original post (adjacent and indented and slightly colored, as is found in many established forum UX's).

I'm willing to take on the dev work. But first I want to verify that this is not yet "in the works" and that this option is "compatible with flarum philosophy/culture" ?

So you want to change the order of the posts to achieve that?

If that's the case, how do you want to handle replies that refer to more than one post?

Pollux To mimic the other forums that have "replies nested within posts", I would simply have the UX make it clear that a reply-type post is truly locked one-to-one with its one original post. There would be no such thing as a "reply to multiple origposts". it's a culture change, yes... but it matches the far-more-common case of a reply to a single origpost.

It's more than a culture change, it would require a database change to add a field that would denote which reply a reply was replying to. Sounds like a good extension, but also one you'd have to install right away to avoid old discussions winding up looking like the normal linear view.
