FluxBB database import

Hi,

I am part of one of the biggest french fluxbb node ( http://forum.ubuntu-fr.org ), and I was wondering if you provide, or target to provide, a script to allow people to migrate from FluxBB to Flarum.
We are a heavy users community, with only a tiny small little wee team of volounter admins.
We are still looking for the best choice, where Flarum seems to do a good job, but the import process is our biggest step to anticipate.

The software is still in beta, and there is no importer planned until a stable release :/

IIRC I think @Franz is working on a importer (or atleast knows how! 😛) But yeah, if you guys do switch make sure to let us know here because I'd love to see Flarum running on a nice big active forum! And if a lot of your users use mobile, they will love it even more!

Yes, we'll build an importer in time for the final release, and FluxBB and esoTalk are on the list for the first version. I'm still looking for some guinea pigs to try it out during development, so I'd like to contact you when it's time to test, if that's okay for you. 🙂

Such a big forum should be a nice playground to get prepared for all kinds of edge cases.

I found some information from fluxbb's website too @cm-t

First of all, nothing should change for you. We will continue to support the 1.5 branch, providing regular maintenance releases as we used to. When Flarum hits beta, we will start providing an upgrade path for users of older FluxBB versions. But don't worry, we won't leave you alone with your FluxBB forums. As long as a significant fraction of users still run FluxBB, we will continue to support the latest version, at least with security fixes.

jordanjay29 in the meantime @matunixe if someone wants to start their own you can just search for the phpbb importer that other members made and take a look at the code to get an idea how to convert to your desired database.

@cm-t @matunixe if you want, you can try our fluxbb importer : https://discuss.flarum.org/d/3867-fluxbb-to-flarum-migration-tool, it works pretty well with our little forum (2.5k users and 40k posts). I would be proud if I can help ubuntu-fr community.

@cm-t your forum is so big, I'm not sure the script succeeds at the first try, it's real stress test ?
