PSA: new terms & conditions

FreeFlarum.com has updated its terms. Article 9 was added, which states:

This service is not available to persons or legal entities who operate legal constructs for the purpose of tax evasion or concealment of the ultimate benefactor, such to be determined by FreeFlarum.com at its sole discretion.

While running a shell company may be legal in your jurisdiction, personally I find it highly unethical and I have no desire to contribute my spare time to these causes.

Hello. When I try to add a custom domain, via the settings panel, I get the Error: “Oops! Something went wrong we are looking into it.”. Is this a Issue on my side or is something wrong with FreeFlarum?

SKevo I created a CNAME Record, as stated on the page. I didn’t change or do anything else.

The “oops” message generally denotes an error in Flarum. If you mail your forum name to info@ I will have a look at it.

naser44 If it occurred after activating the extension, it is likely to be an issue with that extension.

Extensions are made by community and some of them might be buggy after updating Flarum.

But I recommend you to wait for @Sanguine , he has access to the logs and hopefully he'll find anything that will help us. But I'm pretty sure that the extension is not compatible with Flarum at the moment. In that case, you should contact the extension's author for a fix.

Edit: I have checked your forum, registered an account and changed my language to English and I can confirm that it is likely to be a bug with the Arabic extension.

That error happened to me too, and I believe that the Arabic extension reffers to custom CSS for some reason. The problem is probably the file missing.

If it would be bug in custom CSS, the forum wouldn't load no matter what extensions are enabled because custom CSS applies globally. Just my opinion.

artloungein I signed up on your forum successfully with my FB account, and did not find anything in the logs. Sorry, it is hard to debug issues that we can't reproduce. Did you get this error from Facebook or from Flarum? Did you follow the steps in https://www.freeflarum.com/docs/howto/social-login/facebook/ ?

Hi, I activated the Facebook Login Extension on a Forum running from FreeFlarum.com (Massive shout out their system is amazing). The forum is artlounge.flarum.cloud

Facebook Login as far as I can tell works smoothly for anyone who has already registered on the forum. New Signups however gets me an error which says:

Application Unavailable: The application you're trying to use is either no longer available or access is restricted.

Is there some setting on Facebook I need to activate to get this working?

I've tried just about every possible option to enable Facebook login, without success.
I've followed the instructions, step by step, but no go.
I always get, after entering a valid facebook username and password, that the URL cannot be loaded and the domain of this URL is not included in the app domains. To add all the domains and subdomains of your app in the "App domains" field in the app settings." And I already have done that! In every possible way, even including "paleoketogenicdiets.freeflarum.com" or "paleoketogenicdiets.flarum.cloud" or www, etc.
BTW, there is no place I can find to add: App review -> "Make Public" anywhere on Facebook's dev page!
There's no option that has an input field to enter that.
Any advice is greatly appreciated!

Maybe your app is not public then. Do you see the switch in the top right corner on your app's dashboard at Facebook? I would screenshot it for you, unfortunately I'm not able to reach my computer right now and checking the settings from mobile is a pain procedure "xP

Can you enable the extension so I can give it a try?

Hi,

Well, the switch I see on the top right is called "Status: Live" and its on.
The extension is now enabled. I really can't figure this out, as the error is related to the domains not being included in the list, which they are.

kwag Sorry to hear it's not working for you. However, this sounds more like an issue with the Facebook Auth extension than it is with FreeFlarum. Maybe you can ask elsewhere on this forum?

kwag Yes I do. I use FreeFlarum as my hosting too and beta.10 and everything works. Maybe problem is on your side then? Double check everything just in case.

Tomorrow I'll look at the docs and rewrite them if necessary. Perhaps they are little unclear and outdated at the moment 🙁
