How to reset Admin Password?

Hey all,

I finally got Flarum installed last night, after much troubleshooting, and am unable to log in at the moment.
It seems as though I may (probably) forgot the password. Tried to change it via SQL queries (phpMyAdmin), with both plaintext and BCRYPTed versions. But I still keep getting "Oops! Something went wrong. Please reload the page and try again."

Not sure if it matters but I am running PHP 7.x

Tried searching the support threads but couldn't find anything to resolve this particular issue.

in db under settings, set mail_driver to log unless mails are already sending correctly.
use the password reset form with the admin email address
check storage/logs/flarum.log for the mail output.

(not tested yet, so would love to hear whether this works)

I got the same error "something went wrong" but at least the Forgot Password spun for a short while!
Unfortunately I only have frustratingly slow serial access to the CLI at the moment, but I will certainly give this a serious look later this evening.

Addendum:
I did suffer through for a bit, and I see a lot of debugging stack traces which is really cool. Unfortunately the console is unhelpfully slow, and made it hard to actually comprehend anything. Will definitely have to wait until I can get onto a real SSH session.

Is there anything in particular that I should be looking for?
The only contents within the ../storage/flarum.log are stack traces. It looks like they repeat in blocks of 20 or so lines.

Addendum:
Just tried re-running the "Forgot Password" just in case the infosec stack at work was interfering, and I see the mail output now ?
