Google Summer of Code is open for applications starting Jan 4th. Seems like a great opportunity to get some clever minds working on the project while being paid? The stipend is $2400 up to $6600 for the student and $500 for Flarum (per student).

Requirements:

At least two mentors (Toby & Franz?)
One coordinator (anyone volunteering?)
One or more cases/assignment for the students to work on (3 months * 30h/week)

Possibility for mentors to get invited to Google HQ for a Mentors Summit.

The biggest profit, IMHO, is the opportunity to engage new Flarum contributors for a longer time.

duman Would you sign up for Flarum? Or another project (which?)

Sanguine I'm already receiving scholarship directly from Google on being an Android Developer. In the meantime I'll check out projects and what's going on. Of course I would sign up for flarum too.
